About Us

Amanda Pittman

Head Trainer, Chief Executive Officer, Creativity Director, Mom

Amanda grew up riding English and showing hunter jumpers and Arabians. When she started working at Rodeheaver Boys Ranch in 2015 she was introduced to and fell in love with working ranch and western horses. At Rodeheaver, she managed the horse barn and taught the resident boys how to ride. This is where she found discovered her passion for working with youth and horses. Amanda continued working at Rodeheaver for 10 years while also getting her bachelors in Animal Science  and Masters in Agricultural Leadership and Education from the University of Florida. Upon graduation, Amanda worked as the UF/IFAS Alachua County 4-H Extension Agent. Over the past 5 years of working with Extension, Amanda taught at the statewide 4-H Horsemanship School and was very involved in the state horse program, horse shows and clinics.  Amanda has always loved teaching and being able to share her love of horses with others. Now she is putting her lifelong passions of teaching and horses to work at True Arrow Ranch.

Kallie

Kallie assists with cattle operations but mostly makes sure Ty doesn't get lost and is usually here for a good time.

The Crew

Trigger

Amanda's horse who is worth his weight in gold. Trigger, AKA The Brontosaurus, is the OG horse of True Arrow Ranch and one of our best lesson horses. He is also a major goof ball.

Smoke

The "husband horse" of the family... literally. Smoke who was born and started at the University of Florida's Horse Teaching Unit is Tyler's personal horse and the workhorse of the lesson program.

Skeeder

The ranch mom or boss mare. Skeeder is the most senior horse in the program and found a calling later in life as solid walk/trot lesson horse.

Daisy

This is our most recent addition to the lesson string. She is gentle, patient and willing to learn. She loves working cows!

Lakota

This little guy can be ridden and driven!

The rest of the herd...

Chief, Goldie and Lucy are on Amanda's show string. They compete in a variety of in hand, flat and cattle classes.
